Gymnastics & Circus
This is a really popular tots class for toddlers & preschoolers, designed to develop gross and fine motor skills. Activities include songs and gymnastics exercises combined with movements with hand apparatus to develop dexterity. Parents stay with their children to help and guide through the program. This class prepares children to then continue on to Group 1 classes in either dance, acrobatics or rhythmic gymnastics.
Tots Acrobatics is a 45 minute session for toddlers and preschoolers, coached by fully qualified gymnastics staff as well as young leaders who encourage the children. Children work on their gross motor skills: running, jumping, stretching, rolling, building physical co-ordination and encouraging postural strength and alignment. A positive physical formation for any child that will act as a foundation for any sport and physical activity in the future. This class does build to perform in the annual Gymnastics Gala where they perform their movements in front of a big audience. As well as being fun, this is a great way to build their confidence and sense of self.
Start2Dance is a Level 1 class that introduces children to the idea of attending a dance class. Parents can remain close by in the initial period, aiming to leave their child in the class as their confidence develops. There are several waiting areas near the Studio. Performance opportunities are available but not essential. Classes include learning to copy step patterns, arm movements and benefits include socialising and building confidence. Classes are well-staffed and young leaders are based in the class to assist the teacher.
Start2Ballet is a tots class for toddlers and preschoolers for the very young, introducing the very basic principles of ballet. Theme-based classes inspire the children to move, often with the use of props to emphasise story telling. Parents are permitted to stay in the classroom in the early stages to build confidence.
Tots classes for toddlers & preschoolers are well staffed with the addition of young leaders who help the teachers and encourage the children.
