Your Dance Film

Over the years dance and film have grown into a symbiotic relationship, particularly since 2020 which saw a dramatic cancellation of all tours world wide and the closures of venues and dance companies due to the Covid-19 pandemic. For this reason Estha has invested in adapting her main dance studio into a film stage complete with theatre lights and block-out drapes.

In association with Dex Events, Xandy is drawing upon his vast experience to offer bespoke dance films for professional dance productions and student dancers wanting to give a professional touch to their showreels.

Xandy holds a full DBP and is one of the safeguarding officers at Dexterity.

Film shoot price list per person

£150 paid in full in advance

1hr film shoot includes:

Warm up area prior to allocated hour
Mood lighting (theatrical set up)
Copy of all footage
Up to 3 pre set lighting changes per hour
Sole use of the film studio for the hour
Music system for accompaniment

Xandy Sahla

Internationally acclaimed Director and Cameraman Xandy Sahla has professional experience filming for feature films, TV dramas, Commercials, Music Videos and Dance Films. Xandy has worked in the international film industry for over 30 years and has over 30,000 hours of film set experience.

Xandy started his training from as early as Secondary School which had a full four camera television studio. At this time he also got the opportunity to visit his first feature film sets at Shepperton Film Studios.

From there Xandy went on to study Fine Art at Southwalk Art School, Media Studies at The London College of Printing and finally Directing at Bournemouth Film School. After which Xandy was extremely lucky to not only get an introduction to one of the countries first Steadicam Operators Peter Robertson who offered to train, but also academy award winning Director of Photography Chris Menges who offered Xandy the position of 2nd Unit Time-lapse DoP on his film “Second Best”.

This catapulted Xandy from trainee to professional camera operator over night and his carrier went from strength to strength. He primarily worked as a camera operator, specialising in Steadicam.
